Easy to make Halloween Spider biscuits that the kids will love to help decorating. The perfect accompaniment for Halloween night for those who want to avoid anything too sweet and gooey!
To make Halloween Spider biscuits, preheat the oven to 180C/ fan/ Gas 4. Set aside two baking trays lined with greaseproof paper.
Cream the butter, peanut butter and sugar together with a hand whisk until mixture is light and fluffy. Beat the egg and vanilla extract into the mixture.
Stir in the dry ingredients, flour, bicarbonate of soda and 1/4 tsp of salt into the mixture.
Scoop the mixture onto the trays, leaving enough room for each as they will spread as they cook. The mixture should make between 18-20 biscuits. Create a thumbprint in the centre of the cookies.
Place in the oven for 10-12 mins until crispy at the edges but soft in the centre. Leave to cool on the tray.
Meanwhile, heat the chocolate over a pot filled with water, stirring occasionally making sure the chocolate does not burn. Place a small bit of chocolate in the middle and set a Malteser or Rolo in the centre. Using either a piping bag or the back of a teaspoon drizzle the rest of the chocolate over the biscuits to create the effect of spider legs. Stick two candy eyes on the biscuits.
Enjoy scaring your guests with these Halloween treats.
